Science\, logic and technology helped humanity understand the world\, challenge old beliefs and pull us out of the darkness of unquestioned dogma.\n\nBut perhaps we didn't stop believing.\n\nPerhaps we simply found new things to believe in.\n\nBasic Blind Faith is an improvised musical inspired by our complicated relationship with objects\, technology and the systems we have created to make sense of the world.\n\nA phone knows where we are.\nA watch knows how well we slept.\nAn algorithm knows what we want.\nA machine tells us what to do.\nA number tells us how healthy we are.\nA five-star rating tells us what to eat.\n\nAnd sometimes\, we trust all of them more than we trust ourselves.\n\nFunny\, absurd\, occasionally unsettling and unexpectedly tender\, the show asks:\n\nWhen did the things we created to serve us become the things we believe in?\n\nAnd perhaps the strangest question of all:\n\nWhat happens when we stop trusting ourselves?\n\n
